Where others saw a problem, Blanco saw opportunity. He returned to Venezuela and devised a business plan that was soon brought to fruition. Three years later, Moscow saw the grand opening of the first Focus photo shop, as well as the first Spanish restaurant...
...The CARLOS GIFFONI sound can be described as psychedelic electronics for the new era of death and destruction hope music. He is a Venezuelan artist who resides in the New York City area since the year 2000, applying feedback systems, modular manipulation, rewired electronic instruments, analog and digital synthesis to the composition of electronic music pieces, as well as improvising live with local and international renown musicians. Carlos remains very active performing live in New York and in a number of tours and festivals in the US, South America, Europe and Japan. He is the curator of the No Fun Fest, a yearly event in Brooklyn bringing together a wide variety of international experimental musicians. He is also a member of No Wave/Noise/Rock trio Monotract....
New York Mets starter Johan Santana has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
The two-time Cy Young winner is expected to make a full recovery and should be ready in time for spring training.
Santana reportedly tore his meniscus before his final start of the season, but was able to shutout the Florida Marlins to keep the Mets' playoff hopes alive...
Venezuelan Expressions 2008 is Casa de Venezuela’s showcase event that features Venezuelan and Latin-American artists and musicians who live in the Delaware Valley. This year the event will take place on Sunday, October 12 at the Painted Bride Art Center located on 230 Vine Street Philadelphia, PA 19106.

These artists will present a series of musical and dance performances that highlight the rich folkloric heritage of Venezuela, this year the theme is Venezuela’s Traditional Festivities a journey through the different cultural manifestations that take place in various regions in Venezuela.. Venezuelan Expressions 2008 will introduce the audience to the diverse musical influences - indigenous, African, Caribbean, European and Middle Eastern, to name a few - that are prevalent throughout Latin-America. Last year, the event was held at the International House in the University of Pennsylvania and it was enjoyed by more than 250 people, whom were delighted with the performance.

In March 2007, he founded TuDiabetes.com, a community for people touched by diabetes in English, followed by EsTuDiabetes.com, a sister community for those who only speak Spanish. Since January 2008, he lives in California, where he co-founded the Diabetes Hands Foundation along with his wife, Andreina Davila.
