Brian Tracy enters his first year as a coach. After spending the 2007 season as a pitcher for the State College Spikes, Tracy will return to the organization as the 2008 pitching coach.
Tracy pitched for the State College Spikes in 2007, tossing 22 2/3 innings in 14 games for the Spikes, earning a 3-2 record with a 4.37 ERA. Tracy was drafted by the Pirates in the 20th round of the 2007 First-Year-Player Draft.
The 24-year-old attended the University of California Santa Barbara where he played four years for the Gauchos. The 24-year-old was born in Arlington Heights, Ill., and now resides in Presto, Pa. He is the son of former Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Jim Tracy.
