CARLA AROCHA - STEPHANE SCHRAENEN
Arocha and Schraenen are working together since 2006. In continuation of the earlier approach and work of Carla Arocha, they conceive large installations, sculptures, curtains of mirrors. Materials include mirrors, structures, prints, plexi, wood. Fragmentation, destabelizing and reflection of perceptions and visions are key elements in their work

Recent installations include the mirror sculpture 'Circa Tabac' showed at the group exhibition 'METAMORPHOSIS' at L.A.C., Sigean in the south of France. Other major installations in 2007 were to be seen at The Agency Gallery in LONDON, and the project space at Art Cologne: 'curtains' of many plexi-mirrors, coming in different shapes for each installation, mostly hung from the ceiling to the gallery floor, reflecting and partionning the spectator and the surrounding space.

Both artists will participate in Pulse New York (Gallery Monique Meloche, Chicago), Art Brussels '08 KORAALBERG, and later this year a major piece will be presented at the first Biennale of Brussels.

Both artists work and live in Antwerp.
